Escape Espresso is a specialty whole-bean coffee featuring dark, florid packaging inspired by Victorian era stage magic posters and 16th century ornamental woodcuts. This combination of elements evokes mystery and antiquity while imparting elegance and texture.

The Houdini image was created by compositing extant photographs and illustrations into a stencil. The result was then cut, sprayed, scanned, and digitized, all to preserve the hand-drawn feel. The ornamental details on the front and side are original, digitized ink illustrations, while the back frame features a modified artifact from the public domain of The British Museum.

Escape Espresso’s bold imagery brings a unique sophistication to the “future-medieval” design niche that instantly stands apart and grabs attention.
